Join us for a session on Immersive Capture in Practice at the newly opened Do No Harm Music Studios located in Leicester, MA just west of Worcester! Partnered with Immersive Design Labs, we invite members, students, recording engineers, producers, educators, and audio enthusiasts throughout the New England area for this immersive experience.
Do No Harm is a purpose built music and immersive audio studio designed to make room acoustics an integral part of the recording process.
More than a studio tour, the evening will provide an opportunity to listen, learn, discuss, and experience how variable acoustics, microphone array positioning, calibrated immersive capture, and high resolution Atmos monitoring can work together as a complete recording system.
Key Features & Event Highlights:
Variable Acoustic Space: An impressive 23’ x 27’ x 18’ recording room.
IDL 7.0.4 Immersive Capture Array: Simultaneously captures musicians, instruments, and the natural acoustic environment.
The "Bud Lift" Premiere: The world’s first remote controlled height adjustment system for the IDL Array, allowing engineers to optimize overhead capture geometry for various sources.
Premium Instruments: Includes a vintage Steinway D grand piano and a DW drum kit.
Dolby Atmos® Monitoring: A complete Ex Machina Soundworks system for immersive listening.
Event Access: Attendees can explore the studio's workflow, inspect the recording system, and hear full immersive audio examples.
